After several weeks of a downward trend, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Pennsylvania is $3.533, up 4.2 cents from a week ago.

This rise, however, is less than half of the nearly 14-cent increase during the same period last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. Prices have risen largely because of higher crude oil prices.

The national average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.364, up 5.4 cents, while the average in the Lehigh Valley is $3.532, up 5.3 cents from last week.
