Farmhouse Restaurant Will Reopen in Fall, Family Member Says

A member of the family that owns The Farmhouse Restaurant in Emmaus says that the restaurant is not closed for good, contrary to a report that appeared in The Morning Call on Sunday.

Michelle Quier, who was running The Farmhouse before it closed for renovations in January, says that in spite of what customers may have been hearing, the restaurant is not out of business. Her family still owns it and plans to reopen the restaurant in the fall, Quier told Patch.

Some of the changes customers can expect when the restaurant reopens, Quier says, include the fact that she will no longer be running The Farmhouse; another member of her family will be in charge. Also, the head chef at The Farmhouse, Javan Small, is now working at Third and Ferry Fish Market in Easton, she adds.

Quier had also been running Granny Schmidt’s bakery when renovations at The Farmhouse began, she explains, and decided that she wants to dedicate herself to Granny Schmidt’s full-time.

Granny Schmidt’s was previously located on The Farmhouse property in Emmaus and moved to Whitehall in June. The bakery is located on Grape Street, “minutes away from the Lehigh Valley Mall,” she says.
