Domino's is Better Pizza

Last year, started a campaign that basically said “Our pizza is bad, so we’re going to make it better.” But did they stay true to their word? Not long ago, as a pizza lover, I always preferred Pizza Hut over Domino’s. Domino's was definitely not my favorite. But after hearing so much about this campaign, I had to check it out.

Domino’s menu has been expanding for a while, now. It features a variety of traditional pizzas – hand-tossed, deep dish, crunchy thin, and Brooklyn style – along with specialty pizzas like Honolulu Hawaiian, Pacific Veggie, and Buffalo Chicken. It also offers artisan pizzas like Tuscan Salami & Roasted Veggie and Italian Sausage & Pepper Trio, and “feast” pizzas like Ultimate Pepperoni and Bacon Cheeseburger. Now they even have bread bowl pastas like Chicken Alfredo and Pasta Primavera and sandwiches like Philly Cheese Steak and Chicken Bacon Ranch. 

All of this was way too much for me to keep up with, so I decided the best way to test their new recipe was to eat a traditional pizza. I do have to admit: it’s much better. The dough is fluffier and has more flavor (mainly a kick of garlic and oregano) while the sauce is thicker and bolder. The cheese even seemed more like cheese and less like chewy plastic.

My meal: A slice of hand-tossed pepperoni pizza and a slice of hand-tossed cheese pizza. I say hats off to Domino’s for improving its recipe. It really worked. I give it a 5/5, and I may have become a pizza lover again…
