"Day Cation" Massage Parlor Opens in Emmaus

Day Cation is located at 616 State St. A Google search for “Day Cation Emmaus, Pa.,” indicates that the business opened in early December 2011, with ads appearing on philadelphia.backpage.com in the adult entertainment category announcing Day Cation’s grand opening on Dec. 10 and Dec. 22 and touting “pretty Asian masseuse with soft hands and gentle touch.”

A similar ad was posted on pennsylvania.pittsburghcitypaper.ws on Dec. 8.

A bit later in December, reviews of the business by a patron who identifies himself by the name “rustyzipper” started appearing on a variety of sites including rubmaps.com, eroticmp.com, and premiummassage.com. Premiummassage.com appears to be connected to eroticmp.com.

Rubmaps.com says rustyzipper paid $60 for a one-hour massage and that Day Cation is a cash-only establishment.

Day Cation also comes up on a site called spahunters.com, where it has gotten three reviews, most recently on Dec. 26, but a site membership is required to read the reviews. 

Ads for Day Cation on allentown.craigslist.org and philadelphia.craigslist.org are no longer accessible. The ads still come up in a Google search, but clicking on the link reveals that the ads have expired.

Paying for sex between two adults = illegal Paying for sex when I am dating a girl buying drinks, cloths, vacations, dinners and so forth in exchange of getting sex = legal (yeah, I know "YOU" "Your" relationships are not "like that" but MOST relationships are like this). If you THINK about it, it's the SAME thing. You religious nuts need to get over the fact two adults wishing to exchange sex for money happens. It is legal in many countries including Germany as well as Canada. A massage parlor is different than street prostitution and is done behind closed doors. Everyone has sex people! And, you pay for it either way.

Pamela, I am not a prude but I just don't feel that Emmaus needs this type of business. Kevin, You must still hold the mind-set of the 60's stating that you buy everything for the girl you are dating. But to say bluntly that paying for sex by prostitution + dating are two of the same is rediculous. And your third paragraph is irrelevant. I am not religious. We do live in a country where prostitution is illegal. And I get sex for FREE!!!! lol Do what you do and believe in what you believe...I'm sticking to my own beliefs.

Ah yes. Everyone needs to make a living. Crack dealers, prostitutes, thieves and dog-fighting breeders all have to make a buck. But they're not hurting anyone in the process, right? Plain and simple.

If you havent gone there yet dont assume the worst.I do not believe in prostitution but until it happens let this person(s) alone. Its not even in the downtown triangle so who cares. Put another hairdresser there thats what we really need.

Hi Dana, The the ads do not say sex / "happy ending" for money. The ads and are written to entice but, so are strip club ads. Yes, "extras" probably do happen there however, it is not technically illegal. For example, if the ad states 60 for a massage, the patron pays 60 and at the end the massage person does that little "extra" for no more money and does not ask for anymore, it is technically not an act of or prostitution because the person just paid for the massage and, anything that happened extra is between two adults. If you look at other ads on backpage that were referenced here, under escorts, there are ads that say for example, 200.00 for the hour for "my time" and never reference sex or an act thereof. Therefore, it is not prostitution because nobody is saying 200.00 or whatever for a specific act. This is why there are dozens of spas like this in the lehigh valley and the cops cannot do much to stop it unless someone offers sex for money which again, technically is not happening. Outskirts of Las Vegas and other areas in the U.S do have legal prostitution. News alert and fact. Guys are on the hunt for hot girls - go to a bar / club. The girl however, is going to want a guy to pay for them. Yeah, tell me who buys the drinks 99% of the time and pays for like everything else. The guy does! However, in return he gets rewarded. How is it not the "same"? Explain We should adopt a regulated and legal prostitution system like Germany and Canada have.

AP, Do you think that Anna Nicole Smith would have went with that 93 year old guy for the "nice guy" inside of him? Of course not. She went with him for his money and, he went for her becasue of her body. Is this "technically" prostitution by law? No, because she did not say you can have "me" (my looks / sex) for your money. Therefore, there is no exchange for money for sex. But really, it is. Think about it. Same applies to the massage parlors and escorts in general. In no ads referenced on backpage or on spahunter does it say a specific sex act for money. Money is for the massage and that is what the guy is paying for. However, at the "end" the guy may get something "extra" that is given within the money he paid for a regular massage. This is not illegal because they guy paid for the massage only and, anything that happened at the end of the massage is between two adults. The same applies to escorts. You are paying for the time spent with the escort and no money for a sex act is advertised or ever discussed. Therefore, it is not prostitution and the reason why all of these spas as well as escort services exist as law enforcement cannot enforce laws when none are technically being broken. So, if you feel that laws that are not being broken should be enforced in a spa, then it should be enforced in dating as well. I do get laid by a lot girls I get at bars, clubs and so forth. However, I pay for 99% of everything as do most guys in the same situation as me.

To Reality Check, I never said that if you buy a drink for a girl that you should get sex. You should go back and read what I actually wrote. However, you may be one of those people who despite the facts and logic used in an argument presented; it won't matter to you and, you'll simply take what was written and put your own ridiculous spin into something as you just did in your last post. As far as me knowing "too much about this" as you say: What do I know too much about? I am assuming you are referring to the law? I feel sorry for you that you are so ignorant to the law in this country however, it is knowledge that an educated person would and should know. I am simply stating facts. The ads I saw do not state an act of sex for money. The ads that were first referenced in this article referring to backpage and spa hunter either state no "act" of anything is performed (just the massage) or, that one is paying for time and anything that happens between two adults is just that. I am not just talking about the ad for this particular spa but for other massage and escort services within their specific categories. Therefore, it cannot be illegal prostitution if the offer is not sex for money. Use some facts and logic next time, be objective and try to not let your emotions get in the way of things. Go back and read what I wrote in both of my post (this being the third one) and educate youself on the law. Over and out.

Kevin, your logic and insight are obviously too much for this room, particularly the women, to handle. Everything you say is correct. For the average woman, sex is an emotional act. They need to feel "special" to get into the mood. This is why my wife is more willing to participate when I take her to a nice restaurant and buy her flowers. Am I directly paying for sex? No, but I am definitely indirectly paying for it. My wife also tells me that if I were to help out more around the house, she would be less stressed and tired and would be more willing to participate. Is that not my wife bartering sex? So if I clean more, I will get sex. That is a prime example of an exchange of sex for services. The bottom line is, as men we pay one way or another. If you're a woman and you disagree, then you're either a crazy cat lady that never has a man, a woman who never puts out, or are just too emotionally pretentious to see through your own misguided reality. Sugar coat it anyway you want, I still pay for my sex. And when I don't pay I don't get to play. This isn't the 1960s. If it was, I'd be commanding you to have sex with me. I don't mind playing the game, but call it what it is. Our country truly is behind the times. Not only could we legalize the sale of sex without harm to society, but we could regulate it and tax the hell out of it.

Actually.... it IS illegal if they are performing sex acts. There are now licensing laws in place for Massage Therapists in PA. You need 600 hours of instruction, then need to take a state board exam and submit a background check with your application. Performing sex acts causes you to lose your license. This also undermines those of us who are LEGITIMATE Massage Therapists. That's fine if they want to be prostitutes, but it's not fine when they pretend they are in MY profession.

What will be a sad commentary is if this stays open. That means the area has enough interest in this sort of business to support it. Although I'm not sure but I'd imagine though people who use these places probably travel to do so as I imagine there has got to be some embarrassment involved in having your car in front. Also does this sort of thing need to be approved? I remember when the "swingers" club was allegedly going to be built there was some citizen outrage that stopped it. What exactly stopped it? Borough planners or just community reaction?

Kevin, all joking aside, if you think money isn't a fair trade for the companionship your getting in return than, don't waste your money. In all actuality, if that is your way of looking at it, the girl probably isn't getting much more out your "transaction" either since there is apparently no emotional or spiritual connection and in return may not feel the free drink, dinner, etc is worth the hassel of giving you what you're wanting. I do agree that you have to give up certain things in order to have a relationship, wether it be money, time, friends, etc. My economics teacher taught me that nothing is free and you can't gain something without giving up another and I have found that proven millions of times over since college. I hope you find someone that changes your perception on the subject and you finally understand it as "love" and not so much a "return on investment". Don't know you, but hope nothing but the best for you, as it seems like a really lonely road you're on.

Nice thread...one detail missing from both sides of the argument for and against prostitution. MOST of the asian massage parlors that really offer extras (I have no clue about this one) are not a bunch of freelance hookers. They are prostitution rings that often smuggle women into the country indebting the families in Korea or wherever and pimping the girls as sex slaves under the threat of harming there families back home until the debt is paid. Whether prostitution is legal or not is one issue, but I doubt anyone here agrees with smuggling teenage girls into the country to serve as sex-slaves.

As new clients, My wife and I were treated very well (body massage only), never was mentioned that there was extra services available, (over 45 male & female with body aches) when we pressed for such services (testing the validity of such claims of prostitution, we were told that "we only perform body massages") Wife and myself went to site on different occasions with a wad full of cash and tried to see if we could buy any additional services undercover and our attempts were rebutted. Case closed. Loosen up everyone, as everyone gets older we will require these services as our insurance companies would not even think of paying for such a service. Maybe it is under page 1202 under Obama care, hope it is as we will all require strong hands to help sooth our pains. Enough said. Joe Groller

You are 15 years behind, Emmaus, Northampton all the burbs already taken over. Without the NY/NJ transplants the LV would be like Reading (all section 8). Even thought A- town already is on welfare as the rest of the surrounding areas it is kept under wraps. Don't like it move like we did, keep on moving, Mitt Romney is building a state to house the old rich, bigots, It starts with education and tolerance. Stop blaming others and educate our young (weather they are poor, Latino, Black & don’t forget white) we all must stop living in the past at the ripe age of 50 stop watching FOX news, stop blaming others and act with a kind gesture. One important aspect of sexuality that you mongrels are too brain-dead to grasp is that boys are exploding with testosterone and horniness starting in their preteens while at the same age, girls could not care less about sex. By the time girls are 16 years old, they're fucking SICK and TIRED of 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21+ year old males doing anything they can to have sex with them. All the while these young males are getting nowhere because their female counterparts want nothing to do with them but to hold hands. This gives women the "I can have sex anytime I want, wherever I want, with whomever I want" attitude. Well congratufuckinglations! If the tides were turned and your sex drive PEAKED at 18, YOU'D be the ones paying for sex while we were bored out of our minds with all the non-stop drooling and begging. Golly, gee whiz! I guess you need to be a nuclear physicist to figure this out, you holier than thou assholes... As a guy, unless you're a rock star/movie star or look like one, you're not getting very lucky - which is why prostitution exists. Not only do you have unattractive males who desire intimacy with women (God for fucking bid!), you also have attractive males who've had so few partners in their lives that by the time they get married and deal with ONE woman for 5 or 10 years, they get curious because they never got sex out of their system. Prostitution is everywhere and I truly mean "everywhere". You have no choice but to DEAL WITH IT!
