After a Long Day, Kick-Back at P.J. Whelihan's

With its famous wings, this Allentown restaurant is the perfect place to unwind with friends, family or co-workers.

Ever wonder where everyone goes for a good wing night? Just head to P.J. Whelihan’s Restaurant and Pub on a Tuesday.

With its casual, laid-back atmosphere, P.J.’s attracts all kinds of people – from businessmen to students to blue-collar workers. It’s one of those places where you can relax and enjoy some good comfort food or one of the 19 different beers on tap. P.J.’s is often referred to as a sports bar because of the televisions in every corner and walls covered in sports memorabilia, but its dim lighting and crowded tables also make it strangely cozy.

The famous wings come with a choice of seven different sauces, like Hot & Honey, Chipotle Lime Barbeque, or the three heat levels of Buffalo. You’ll find the place packed on Tuesdays when they’re half-priced.

The rest of the menu features an array of starters and dips (like Potato Skins and Buffalo Chicken Dip), salads (like Taco and Mediterranean Chicken), and sandwiches (French Dip and the Cajun Chicken). There are also a few entrées like Fish N’ Chips and Twin Crab Cakes.

My meal: French Onion Soup and a Buffalo Chicken Salad. The French Onion Soup was amazing (and I know my French Onion soup). And the salad was delicious as well. The service was a little slow, but I still give it a 5/5.
