Wind Gap to Host Local Jug Band

The Daisy Jug Band will have you clapping along at Wind Gap Park this Sunday.

Despite the strange abundance of hurricanes and tropical storms, this weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm. So kick back at Wind Gap Park with a free concert for the entire family. Originally scheduled for August 28, the Daisy Jug Band will instead be winding down the Summer Sound Series this Sunday evening.

Using quirky instruments like a scrub-board and a washtub bass, the Daisy Jug Band tours much of Eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey with old-fashioned flare. The band (all former teachers) began back in 1971 at the Oasis Tavern in Levittown. When the scheduled band didn’t show up, the bartender challenged them to perform. Now, after 40 years, the five members are entertaining audiences of all ages with their classic instruments and energetic sounds of country, oldies, bluegrass, and classic rock.
