The Sellersville Hotel Offers a Full Weekend of Music

Two renowned artists will play at The Sellersville Theater this weekend.

This weekend offers a double threat of musical opportunity: Garland Jeffreys and Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives. Both are playing at the Sellersville Theater this weekend, so you can easily buy tickets for both if you’re up for some good music to fill up both of your days off.

Garland Jeffreys is a singer/songwriter who is influenced by rock and roll, blues, soul and reggae. His live performances showcase his soul and smooth vocals. In 1973, he released his first self-titled album and the single “Wild in the Streets,” a song about a pre-teen rape and murder in the Bronx that became an underground anthem in the skate community. Jeffreys was voted “best new artist of 1977” by "Rolling Stone" and has released a total of 12 albums, including one this year titled “The King of in Between.”

On another side of the music spectrum is Marty Stuart, a country artist influenced by the styles of rockabilly and honky tonk. He began his extensive musical career at the age of 12, performing with the bluegrass group The Sullivans and released his first album “With a Little Help From My Friends” in 1978 (he’s released another 15 since). Stuart was a member of both Lester Flatt’s band and Johnny Cash’s band, and went on to form his own band in 2002 called “Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives,” who now have feet tapping at all of their performances.
