Sellersville gets a Taste of Eric Clapton

Craig Thatcher will be performing a tribute to Clapton at the Sellersville Theater this weekend.

If you’re a fan of Eric Clapton, you’re in for a treat this week. Guitarist Craig Thatcher will be back in the Lehigh Valley (following his performance at Musikfest) performing a Tribute Retrospective to Eric Clapton at the Sellersville Theater on Saturday.

Thatcher and his band (The Craig Thatcher Band) have been performing blues and rock music since 1993, and have released two albums since 1996. They’ve opened for major acts like The Derek Trucks Band, Jonny Lang, and Buddy Guy and have performed with many accredited musicians of Pennsylvania.

The band has performed numerous times at Musikfest and has picked up the titles “Artist of the Day” and “Artist in Residence.” This Saturday, however, Thatcher will go solo, teaming up with guitarist Chris Morrison and husband/wife duo Craig and Pat Kastelnik to create a musical tribute to one of his major influences. With a soulful, energetic on-stage presence and impressive guitar skills, I’d say Thatcher is worth a listen.

After Sellersville, he’ll be taking the show to the House of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J. and the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe.
