Musikfest 2011: What you Need to Know

Venue changes, artist lineups, and parking info are all here for this year's Musikfest.

Venue Relocations:

This year, much of Musikfest has been relocated to Bethlehem’s South Side. The festival will host a whopping 344 artists (20 more than last year) across 14 venues, but the headlining acts won’t be performing on the usual RiverPlace stage on Sand Island. Instead, they’ll be at the Sands Steel Stage, located on the SteelStacks campus just west of Bethlehem Steel’s blast furnaces. The venue will seat 7,000 more people than RiverPlace and use bleachers instead of lawn seating for the cheaper tickets.

Because of the ArtsQuest Center, the Candlelight Series (at Moravian College’s Foy Hall) and the Performing Arts Series (at Lehigh University’s Zoellner Arts Center) have merged into one series (the PNC Bank Performing Arts Series) and all of its performances will take place in the Musikfest Café.

Also, Americaplatz, the largest free venue, will now be at the new Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, instead of in Payrow Plaza next to City Hall.
