FloreAnt Projects Gallery presents: Book Signing by Award-Winning Photographer, Lydia Panas

Lydia Panas, an award-winning and internationally acclaimed Lehigh Valley photographer, will be signing advanced copies of her forth-coming monograph, The Mark of Abel with essays by Maile Meloy and George Slade, published by Kehrer Verlag, at FloreAnt Projects Studio-Gallery for a one-day only event. Her book will be available in US bookstores February 2012. Select photographs will be on display November 19-20.

There’s a quiet, almost stoic quality about Lydia Panas’ photographs that inspires strength, an attribute that transcends time. Her portraits are representative of a generation in transition that needs to reinvent itself, the way it lives and behaves in a changed world... a true process of regeneration.

Unspoken tensions within the work stress a sense of isolation but at the same time show a struggle to stay connected.  One can’t help but reflect on the premise that human connections are necessary for our survival and that the emotions that link us are quintessential for sustainable relationships.
