Coppelia

The story of Coppélia is about a mysterious inventor, Doctor Coppélius who has made a life-size dancing doll. The doll, Coppelia, sits on her balcony all day reading, speaking to no one. It is so lifelike that Frantz is infatuated with it, and sets aside his fiance, Swanhilde, to swoon over Coppelia. Swanhilda, is infuriated when she sees Franz throwing kisses at Coppelia. Swanhilda soon learns that Coppelia is actually a doll that belongs to Doctor Coppelius and she decides to impersonate the doll, in order to win the love of Franz. Chaos ensues, but all is soon forgiven. Swanhilda and Franz make up and get married and the marriage is celebrated with several festive dances.

Swanhilda herself will be serving desserts in a special party following the 1:00 matinee and the 7:00 show will include an additional act of guest performances by area dance companies.

Ticket prices range from $16-$20 and the after matinee party is $7 for children and $3 for adults.

School performance tickets are still available for performances on Friday, March 30 at 10:00. Call 610-965-6216 for school perfomance tickets.
