Eleven students from Allegro Dance Studio’s 10-week summer program will perform tomorrow afternoon at Musikfest at 1:30 p.m. at Volksplatz.
Lillian Freeman, owner/director of Allegro, says that this is the fourth time she has brought a class to Musikfest to perform.
“We’re very happy to be back at Musikfest this year,” she says. “We strive to give our students the chance to perform in a non-competitive arena. We don’t spend money on costumes. We try to encourage self-esteem.
“Musikfest is very well organized and the fact that the kids get to perform is great,” she says.
The students performing tomorrow range in age from 9 to 17, and their show, which should last about 40 minutes, will include cheer dance, musical theater, ballet, modern, hip-hop and African, Freeman says.
