What Would You Improve in Emmaus in 2014?

If you could make a New Year's resolution for Emmaus, what would it be?

More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.

As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do right here in Emmaus to make it an even better place to live?

What is on your Emmaus wish list? What is one thing you would improve in 2014?

Get rid of that ridiculous traffic arrow in front of the Moravian Church

I want the police to start questioning teens who are out walking the streets after 11 pm ESP when they are in groups of 2 or more. Who are they, what are they doing, where are they going? Maybe the petty crimes in Emmaus would go down. I know people who work in Emmaus till sometimes 12-1 in the morning and heard several times they are scared to walk to their car cause almost every night there are groups of teens and young adults randomly walking around Emmaus. Some action should be discussed. If they aren't hiding anything random stops by police shouldnt matter to them.

@emmaus forever Stop them for what reason ? For walking ? That's probable cause? R u proposing a curfew? Sounds awfully unconstitutional to me.

@matt. No not a curfew. I just meant that nothing is being done about all the petty crimes happening at night in Emmaus and we should be looking at certain things like groups of teenagers and young adults walking around at all times of late night. I get your point about stopping them , I went a little overboard with that but the police should be more aware that they are walking in the shadows of the alleys late at night.

They may be the ones leaving graffiti in the ally ways. I am tired of it. People defacing other people's property . This issue definitely affects the quality of life in Emmaus. It shows a total lack of respect.

Less wood fires in back yards would be an improvement in Emmaus. Less pollution. I like stepping out of my front or back door to the smell of fresh air, not somebodies wood fire they're playing with in their back yard.

On a couple of occasions we have seen police/ambulance crews driving up and down our street and even knocking on doors looking for a house. Those seconds wasted could make a difference to the person they are trying to find who made that 911 phone call. Either house numbers need to be made more obvious or they need better GPS systems.

Dogs allowed in parks.

Problem is not everybody cleans up after their dog. Plus some little yapping dogs are annoying to others in the park. Maybe the borough will build you a doggy park.
