UPDATE: Spring Creek/Mill Creek Road Now Open

PennDOT says the stretch between Lower Macungie Road and Trexlertown Road is too dangerous to cross.

UPDATE: PennDOT removed the barriers  to Spring Creek and Mill Creek roads Saturday morning, Feb. 26 at 9:10 a.m. PennDOT sent a notification that the road is open at 11:19 a.m. Feb. 26.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has closed Spring Creek and Mill Creek roads in Lower Macungie Township effective at noon today.

The affected area spans the area between Lower Macungie Road and Trexlertown Road, said PennDOT spokesman Ronald J. Young in a release.

The road is closed to to flooding from the heavy rains encountered earlier today and yesterday.

"PennDOT warns motorists not to drive across roads covered with water because the water may be deeper than it looks. Motorists who encounter water covered roads are encouraged to turn around and seek an alternate route," he said.
