See Emmaus Man's Very Rare Car

The "Brush Runabout" Cost $485 in 1910

A rare early automobile owned by an Emmaus man is part of the permanent display of the America on Wheels museum in Allentown. The 1910 Brush Runabout Model E is on loan from .

The 10-horse power car sold for $485 and was advertised as a car for "anyone who can afford to own a horse and buggy," according to the museum's display.

The Runabout includes springs at its four corners - one of the earliest forms of shock absorbers.
