Rachael Ray Hosts Today's Show from Lehigh Valley Home

Rachael Ray taped today's 'Direct from your Couch' episode from the home of the Alvarado family of Breinigsville. The show airs at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, on WPVI-6 (ABC).

The Rachael Ray show chose a Breinigsville family for its "Direct from Your Couch" Thanksgiving-themed episode, which airs at 10 a.m. today on on ABC.

It's the first time the Rachael Ray show taped a full episode from a viewer’s home.

Ray surprised the Alvarado family of Breinigsville by video message to let them know they had been chosen for the “Direct From Your Couch” episode. The taping, with Ray and co-host Regis Philbin, was on Nov. 13.

A video introduction to the episode shows Ray and Philbin headed to the Alvardo home for the taping.

Homeowner Tina Alvarado, who runs Bon Appetina catering, told The Morning Call that she had created a short, funny video to win the chance to have the show hosted from her home. She was chosen from more than 1,100 entries.

On the show, Ray teaches Philbin and Alvarado's husband, Ray, how to carve a turkey.

Tina Alvarado, on her Bon Appetina Facebook page, said about the experience for her family: "You'll see one surprise after another on the show and there will be a segment where my girls are having an unforgettable time that Ray and I almost cried tears of joy about as they were on set."  

She also posted a video clip that Ray had aired of some of the entries. Alvarado is shown at the end of the video clip saying "So I want your peeps to call my peeps. Wait a minute, I don't have any peeps."

The Alvarado family also received a living room makeover by decorating pro John Gidding of the TV series "Curb Appeal."

Another surprise guest stopped by the Alvarado home during the taping, but that visitor won't be disclosed until the show airs.

The show airs at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 on WPVI-6 (ABC).
