Tree Lighting Marks Finale of Emmaus Old Fashioned Christmas

Hot cocoa, carolers and the countdown to the lighting of the Christmas tree bring hundreds to the Emmaus Triangle.

The evening was crisp and clear on Saturday, Dec. 3. The vibe was festive. Hundreds of excited residents flocked to the Emmaus in anticipation of the Christmas tree lighting, an annual event sponsored by the .

Perhaps even more were eager for Santa's impending arrival.

Carols and tunes were offered by 's Cadence Choir as well as the Orchestra and the Emmaus Moravian Brass Choir. At 6 p.m., the crowd was encouraged to sing along.

During the second round of "Joy to the World," heads turned as the bright red Emmaus fire engine rolled around the corner and came to rest at the Triangle.

Children lined the sidewalks as Santa and Mrs. Claus waved to the crowd and made their way toward the newly illuminated Christmas tree. Wish lists were discussed as candy canes were passed out.
