MS Masquerade Ball Rescheduled for Saturday

Multiple sclerosis fundraiser postponed due to surprise October snowstorm will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m.

It's not often you get a chance to go dancing with the Purple People Eater and also help to support a worthy cause, but you'll be given just such an opportunity on Saturday night.

That's because there will be masquerade ball to benefit multiple schlerosis (MS) research at , 6341 Chestnut St., Zionsville, at 8 p.m. on Nov. 12. And, the Purple People Eater, the mascot of the Upper Milford Purple People Eaters MS Walk Team, will join in on the fun.

If the ball sounds vaguely familiar, that's because the much-anticipated fundraiser was originally scheduled for Oct. 29, but was postponed due to the unusual Nor'easter that rocked the east coast over Halloween weekend.

The event is being organized by Lynette Heminitz, who was diagnosed with MS in 2007. Lynette's goal for the ball is to raise $5,000 for MS research.

Costumes are preferred, but not mandatory; however, a mask is required. Everyone will unmask at midnight. There will be prizes for the best male and female costumes, door prizes every hour, a hot air balloon ride raffle, and much more.
