Get Out: Five Things to do This Weekend

This week we have a bike ride for a worthy cause, great books, cars everywhere, whitewater rafting and....ghosts!
1. Ryan's Tree Ride for Kids
When/Where: 2 p.m. April 2 at the Bob Rodale Cycling and Fitness Park, Trexlertown.

Why go: The ride for kids around the flat and hill loops supports Ryan's Tree for Grieving Children a guided peer-support group of St. Luke's Hospice for children and adolescents aged 5-18 who are grieving the loss of a family member or friend. It will include music, face painting, balloon animals, a sandbox treasure hunt and more. The inaugural "Let Me Go" Charity Bike Ride precedes the kids' event.
Pricing: No cost to register for the ride for kids.

2. Lower Macungie Library Book Sale
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1-2 at the Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road.
Why go: Because it's a book lover's paradise!
Pricing: See what bargains you can find!
When/Where: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 1-3 at Pocono Whitewater Rafting, 1519 State Route 903, Jim Thorpe.
Why go: Because no matter what the thermometer says, it's spring and it's time to get out there. And if you go, you get a free pass to come back for the Rail-Trail biking or paintball.
Pricing: $49.95
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 31, April 1-2 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 3 at Stabler Arena, Lehigh University.
Why go: Because more than 200 cars from Acuras to Volvos will be there.
Pricing: At the door: $10, adults, $8, seniors, $7 children 6-14. Free parking.
5. Ghost Weekend at Historic Hotel Bethlehem
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 1-2
Why go: In addition to ghost hunts and stories, the weekend includes lectures, classes and workshops with members of GhostBreakers.
Pricing: $349 for a weekend package for two including meals and accommodations.
