1. Music Across Borders – East Winds Quintet

Where/When: Zoellner Arts Center, 420 E. Packer Ave., Bethlehem, 3 p.m., Sunday.

Why Go: Hear a variety of musical styles in one concert, including Cuban Paquito D’Rivera’s “Aires Tropicales” and Czech Leos Janacek’s “Mladi.”

2. Restaurant Week at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley

Where/When: All of the eateries at The Promenade Shops, 2845 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley. Sunday through Feb. 24.

Why Go: Prix Fix three-course meals at some of the fine dining establishments at The Promenade. Specials also available at the casual dining spots as well. And watching all those aliens chasing aliens and explosions and stuff is going to make you hungry.

Pricing: Ranges from $5 for lunch at Red Robin to $39 for dinner at Shula’s Steak House.

3. Moby Dick! The Musical

Where/When: Cedar Crest College, 100 College Drive, Allentown; Feb. 17, 18, 19 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Support young actors: The college Performing Arts Department is committed to producing premieres and original works by new playwrights.

Pricing: Adults $15; Seniors $10; Students $5

4. Kids Exploration Day

Where/When: America on Wheels, 5 N. Front St.
Allentown; 10 a.m., Feb. 19

Why Go: Activities throughout the day; includes “Ice Cream Making for Kids of all Ages" from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in our HubCap, which is an authentic 50s soda fountain.

Pricing: $7; Seniors $5; Students $3.50; Children 5 and under, Free

5. Dickey Betts and Great Southern

Where/When: Penn’s Peak, 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe, 8 p.m., Friday.

Why Go: Dickey Betts was one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers Band and, with the late Duane Allman, formed one of the greatest lead guitar tandems in rock history. He also wrote some of the Allmans’ most well-known songs, including “Ramblin’ Man,” “Jessica,” “Blue Sky,” and “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.” Rolling Stone magazine ranked him as the 58th greatest guitarist of all time. Some would say, myself included, that ranking is a little low.

Pricing: $32 at the door.
