Prescription Drug Take-Back at Emmaus Police Department

The DEA has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which is happening this coming Saturday, September 27th, 2012, from 10am to 2pm.

Last year the DEA led four drives across all 50 states and collected more than 1.5 million pounds of old, expired, or unwanted prescription drugs.

Prescription Drug Abuse presents a major threat to young people in our community.  The rising statistics on teen abuse of prescription drugs is frightening.

When flushed down the toilet or washed down the drain, those toxic compounds contaminate our watershed including our brooks, streams and groundwater supply.  The very tap water we drink can be contaminated with residual prescription drugs.

Box or bag up all your old and expired pills and drop off this Saturday at the Emmaus Police Station between 10 and 2pm.
