Brad Fogel, the business manager of the Emmaus Sentinels Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps contacted Emmaus Patch this week to see if Patch readers can help the corps out with a problem – the group needs a place to practice.
The Sentinels Alumni was started back up in 2009, Fogel explains, to march in the Emmaus 250th anniversary parade, and has been in together ever since.
Recently, he explains in an email message to Patch, “we have run into a slight roadblock as we are running out of places to practice.”
Normally, he says, the group practices on the third Sunday of the month at two different locations – the Emmaus VFW and Unami Fish and Game.
“What happens,” he writes, “is the drums go to the VFW from 2 to 5 p.m. and the horns to Unami from 2 to 4 p.m. and then the horns go down to the VFW with the drums till 5 p.m. so we can play together.”
Unami is not available for the months of February through April according to Fogel because there are events planned.
Fogel is looking for an Emmaus location that would allow the drum and bugle corps to practice at little or no cost.
“We are a non-profit and really don't have the money to rent anywhere,” he writes. “Any help would be great!”
