Emmaus Among Best Towns in PA to Raise a Family, Study Says

A recent report by NerdWallet lists Emmaus among the top 10 places to raise a family in Pennsylvania.

Emmaus came out number six in a recent study of the best towns to raise a family in Pennsylvania conducted by NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website.

The study, according to the researchers, was shaped by an effort to answer three questions that would likely be on the minds of young couples as they try to choose a place to settle down:

  • Does the town have good public schools?
  • Can you afford to live there?
  • Is the town growing and prospering?
Then, researchers used national and statewide data in five areas to drill down and answer those questions. Those factors include, public school rating, median home value, ongoing cost of homeownership, median income and economic growth.

Emmaus is sandwiched on the list between Lansdale (5) and Willow Grove (7) in nearby Montgomery County. Jefferson Hills, a suburb of Pittsburgh, earned the honor of being the best place in PA to raise a family, according to the study.
