At LongHorn Steakhouse, everything is crafted to simulate an experience reminiscent of the American West. Images and statues of horses, actual saddles and cowboy boots, framed silver belt buckles, and chandeliers fashioned from wagon wheels and antlers constitute the décor. Seating is a mix of substantially proportioned wooden booths and tables under high ceilings with exposed beams. The music playing on the speakers is exclusively Country Western.

Steaks grilled to order are the staples of the menu. Diners choose from an array of cuts, each with suitable seasonings or sauces: filet, New York Strip, T-bone, porterhouse, ribeye, flat iron steak, sirloin and prime rib. There are also numerous entrée options other than steak, including ribs, chicken dishes, salmon, and shrimp. Dinners are served with choice of side dish, salad and fresh honey wheat bread. Half-pound burgers, with choice of toppings, are accompanied with seasoned fries.

Some, but not all, of the dishes are branded with Western-themed names. A few of the starters are Firecracker Chicken Wraps, shrimp and lobster dip, and LongHorn’s own Texas Tonion (onion petals served with dipping sauce). Steakhouse Salads pair strips of steak, chicken or salmon with crunchy greens and other fruits or vegetables. Desserts, such as Chocolate Stampede layer cake, cheesecake and sundaes, are big enough to share. Dedicated sections of the menu offer selections for kids and lighter fare under 500 calories. Full bar service is available. Beers, margaritas and specialty drinks are featured.

LongHorn serves both lunch and dinner. Many of the casual meals and combos served at lunchtime are priced around $6.99-$10.99, although full steak meals are available for $14.99-$21.99 and up. Dinner prices are principally in the range of $12.99-$24.49. The Steakhouse Dinner for Two promotion allows a couple to choose two salads, two entrees from a select list, and one appetizer or dessert to share for $29.99.
