Appraisal Event Reveals Local Treasures

Emmaus Historical Society hosts appraisal program at St. John's Lutheran Church.

On Aug. 17, more than 150 antiques filled the Parish Hall at during the Emmaus Historical Society's "Antique Appraisal Program."

A $5 fee was charged per item, but for some the appraised value made it all worth while. For example, one sapphire ring came in at a solid $2,000 to $3,000 estimated value.

Appraisers from Alderfer Auction Co. in Hatfield volunteered their services as they gave in-depth accounts of each item's history and value.
