Emmaus High to Compete in First Flag Marching Band Festival

Emmaus High School's marching band is performing at the 39th Annual First Flag over the United Colonies Band Festival in Easton on Wednesday.

Emmaus High School's marching band is among the eight high school marching bands and one middle school band performing at the 39th Annual First Flag over the United Colonies Band Festival in Easton on Wednesday.

Presented by the Easton Area High School Instrumental Music Association (IMA), the First Flag festival is a grand tradition in Easton where local and regional bands demonstrate their talent and compete at Cottingham Stadium, located between N. 11th and N. 12th streets, one block off Northampton Street.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and performances start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $5/adults and $4/students and senior citizens.

The marching bands from Easton Area High School and Easton Area Middle School 7/8 will perform in exhibition, while the competing bands are from Wilson, Southern Lehigh, Phillipsburg, Emmaus, Saucon Valley, Bangor and Pocono Mountain East high schools.

The IMA also will be selling refreshments, 50/50 tickets, basket raffle tickets, hats, pins and magnets, and will be taking orders for decorative pillows made from old Easton band uniforms.
