Embrace Your 'Despicable' Side

Wednesday brings the opportunity to take in an afternoon showing of "Despicable Me 2" at the Emmaus Movie Theater.

There's a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, so the movie theater could be the ideal place to weather the weather as well as the legendary mid-week 1:30 p.m. East Penn elementary school dismissal time.

The good news is, you won't have to travel very far to find a family friendly flick, since the Wednesday afternoon matinee at the Emmaus Movie Theatre features a 2 p.m. showing of "Despicable Me 2," held over for its third week.

"DM2" brings a chance to catch up with reformed villian Gru, who is working hard to be a good father and provider to his adoptive daughters Margo, Agnes and Edith. A disgruntled Dr. Nefario is in the film as well, charged by Gru with making jams and jellies instead of evil weapons.

And, of course, the minions are back, too. From what we hear, there are even more minions in "DM2," and all matinee seats at the Emmaus Theatre are priced at $3, so really, how could you go wrong?
