Dream Big...Read! is the theme of the 2012 Summer Reading Program which kicks off on Monday, June 18 with an author and illustrator visit. Many other programs will include Sleepy Time Story Times for ages 2-5, Drop-In Story Times for ages 3-5, Literary Lunches for grades 4 & 5 or 6-8, Teen Reads, a Teen Reading Club and an Adult Reading Club (both new this year), and Family Nights.
Some of the events involve UFOs, Ghost Tales, the Paranormal, and a visit from a chipmunk lady (really!). Call for more information (610-965-9284). Come and have fun.
More About Emmaus Public Library
Books, audiobooks, music and movies are available to borrow at the Emmaus Public Library, founded in 1966. Although it stands right along Main Street, behind the gateway to the heart of Emmaus, this treasure house of knowledge is too easily overlooked by thousands of people who drive by every day. The one-level building is tucked away behind the trees in its large front yard. Its parking-lot entrance is off Ridge Street, not Main. In addition to Emmaus residents, the library serves those who live in nearby Upper Milford Township and Macungie. Overcrowded in all areas, the library is raising money to expand; groundbreaking is tentatively scheduled for June 2011.
