Candidates Petition Signing Event
Free and Open to the Public
Date- Tuesday, February 19th, 2013
Location- Fire Company #1, corner of 6th and Broad St., Emmaus
Time- meeting starts at 7:30 PM and goes till ~ 9:30
Purpose: Time and travel savings for the public &
candidates of all parties for all open races. Meet your constituency. Learn
about all aspects of running for elected office i.e. Petitions, financials,
time schedules etc…
How: By providing “Petition Papers”
to all candidates and having the general public there for signing those
petitions.
What else: Give the general public a
place where they can meet, ask questions and sign “petitions” of Candidates.
Our C.E.P.T.A. event for tonight will be a perfect intro to anyone interested in learning how the process actually works in going from private citizen to serving your public through elected office. One of the first steps, after actually deciding to run for office, is to getting your petition papers and going around town collecting signatures from your parties registered voters.
What we at C.E.P.T.A. will provide is the help and place where all candidates, Democrat or Republican can get their petitions and learn what steps they will need to do right up to the actual election day.
For the Candidates this will be an informational event where we will have on hand the Lehigh County Voter Registration dept. heads, Mr. Tim Benyo and Mrs. Terri
Harkins. They will give a program explaining all the steps candidates must follow in preparation for their bid for public office.
For the general public, please come out to meet and talk to the candidates, ask them questions, keep them honest and if you like them and their ideas you will be able to sign their petition papers so they can go on to potentially be your next elected public servant.
Light refreshments will be available.

More About Emmaus Fire Co. No. 1
Emmaus Fire Co. No. 1 is a social hall and private bar located in Emmaus. The facility includes two banquet rooms, a social room, a commercial kitchen and a bar which can be rented out for social events such as weddings, fundraisers, auctions or sporting events.
The facility also features a full bar which is open daily, as well as a dinner menu. Emmaus Fire Co is open to members and their guests. Membership is paid through annual dues and membership meetings are held monthly.
