Someone may have been confused about exactly what was for sale recently when it came to two empty homes in Emmaus. Earlier this month, copper piping was taken from two unoccupied homes for sale in the borough in two separate incidents, according to Emmaus Police. In both cases, police say, overnight someone forced entry into the homes and stole the copper piping. The first burglary took place on May 2 in an empty home on Pennsylvania Avenue and the second happened on May 3 in an empty house on Spruce Street. No value on the copper piping was reported.

Thefts from Vehicles: Two thefts from vehicles were reported on Feb. 23—one in the 800 block of Chestnut Street and the other in the 600 block of Walnut Street. The vehicles were entered and items stolen. In another case reported on Feb. 26, a GPS was taken from a car, either while it was parked on N. 3rd Street or while the victim was at Home Depot.
The Emmaus Police Department recently released the following report: Alleged Cell Phone Robbery: Three boys—a 16-year-old from Allentown, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Emmaus—have been charged with stealing the cell phones of two other boys on Feb. 11. The three teens have each been charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft and receiving stolen property in Lehigh County Juvenile Court, police said. Vehicles were parked at residences in the North end of the Borough on Frank, Lawrence and Little Lehigh drives and Berger, Spruce and Pine streets. Reported Feb. 6, 2013. A resident on Macungie Avenue reported someone entered his vehicle overnight and stole his Sony AM/FM/CD player from the dash of his car. Stereo was valued at about $100. A 30-year-old Montgomery County man stalked his estranged wife while driving a car filled with weapons, including three large knives, brass knuckes and a stun gun baton, according to court records. He was wearing body armor under his clothes when he was arrested by Emmaus Police, and a handgun was later found in the car, the court records say.
