Being a teenager is tough. Being the parent of a teenager, some would argue, is equally challenging.
That’s why KidsPeace supports two websites aimed at helping teens and parents work through difficult issues such as bullying, alcohol awareness and the stress of an increasingly demanding lifestyle.
TeenCentral.Net and ParentCentral.Net are free, anonymous websites where teenagers and parents can log on and get professional guidance on a variety of issues. Within 24 hours of posting a question, members receive answers from trained counselors and professionals.
The sites aim to make teenagers and their parents realize they are not alone. And people are taking notice of all that the sites have to offer. Both websites recently won prizes in the 14th annual Web Health Awards – ParentCentral.Net for its overall standout nature as a web-based resource and TeenCentral.Net for the Anti-Bullying League, a section of the site that was made possible through a grant from Verizon Wireless.
The Anti-Bullying League, which can also be found on ParentCentral.Net, addresses the dangers of bullying while giving teens some tools to help and lending parents understanding into the cruel nature of bullying.
The Web Health Awards, issued semi-annually, recognize the best digital health resources in the nation.
Have you been on our sites? We’d love to hear your feedback. If not, log on and work it out. You’ll be glad you did.

I have a little sign in my home that says "raising a teenager is like nailing jello to a tree". Although the oldest child I have given birth to is only 9, I have a 13 yr old I have been helping to raise for over a year. She is much more difficult then both my boys together!!!! But I wouldn't love her any more without her "drama"!!!! I will def be checking out this site to seee what help it could offer for my beautiful little hard-to-handle "drama queen" :-)
