What is the upper age limit? We oldsters seem to be ignored. Ask an oldster working at a fast food joint. You might be talking to a skilled machinist, a physicist, a chemist, or some other person with a raft of skills in the trades or the sciences. I would like to see what stories are out there about disenfranchised oldsters being ignored for job consideration in their of expertise because of their age. There are some super intelligent oldsters playng pinochle at senior centers and doing menial work to pay for food and meds. President Obama, when you get re-elected, lower the hammer on job discrimination against oldsters. Better yet, start now.

If you want oldsters (and youngsters and middle-agesters) to get employed, then you should hope Obama loses. His economy isn't putting people back to work.

But to your core point, discrimination in any way is wrong.

I respect your opinion and revel that we can both have divergent ideas and don't get shot for it. The USA is the greatest country ever to have existed on the planet and it was built by men who disageed a lot but hammereed out compromise with words, then in pen and ink. I just like Barack because he is honest, asks lots of questions of lots of folks with diverse points of view and then makes up his mind and ACTS, as in the Bin Laden snuffout. Economics is not my keen point but I do know that as the economy went downhill and I started to be laid off in the suumer and then our whole drafting department got shut down and I lost lost my job, he made sure I got unemployment extensions. Now, I am to old to be considered for employment so I just enjoy inexpensive Emmaus, visit the free library, write something, enjoy my remaining years with my wife, or give a talk for enjoyment. But, to sum up, I think Barack is doing an okay job in my simple downhome estimation and I hope all the ...sters get a job who are in dire straits and needful of same. I don't trust Romney. Again,...downhome gut reaction, to be sure, but thems my thoughts. The electorate will have to listen to their gut instincts come November, just as you and I shall and thereby nullify each other's votes...but that is how the system works and it works well. Fare thee well, my friend. And if you're young, run for office and I'll be glad to listen to your speeches.
