Sunday, May 1 dawned with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. For the residents of Emmaus, this added to the excitement of the annual opening of the Emmaus Farmers' Market located in the KNBT parking lot on Main Street.

Vendors were there early, proudly putting together their unique stands featuring local produce, meat, bread and flowers. Participants like Hausman’s Fruit Farm, The Flour Shop Bakery and Lettuce Alone Farm were veterans of the market. The Stache featuring organic, gluten-free meals and The Easton Salsa Company were selling for the first time at the market.

The market quickly filled with visitors, before 10 a.m. when it officially opened, chatting with favorite vendors and catching up with old friends. The cheerful atmosphere matched the weather and promised the same for the coming Sundays when the KNBT parking lot will again be transformed into a hotspot.
