The Burgery Company: Traditional With a Twist
Here's this week's best bet for great local food
Each week, Emmaus Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:
Being told to check out yet another burger joint may strike you a little bit ho-hum, but trust me, The Burgery Company is anything but just another burger joint. With a range of non-traditional burger options including bison, elk, venison and ostrich, as well as their less exotic but no less unique turkey, chicken, lamb, pork prime rib, veggie and fish burgers, plan on spending a some time at the counter when placing your order -- it definitely takes a while to figure it all out. Plus, while they’ve also got “normal” beef burgers on the menu, even their traditional hamburgers offer a some unique twists with topping selections like garlic hummus, roasted red peppers fried egg and grilled pineapple.
1468 Chestnut Street, Emmaus, (610) 966-9900
Price level: $ $.
Open Monday through Saturday, 10:50 a.m. to 8:20 p.m.; Sunday, 11:50 a.m. to 7:20 p.m.

Went there once about 4-6 months ago never again I had to wait almost thirty minutes for a take out order when I got it home the fries were beyond soggy completely unedible and the burger sucked. Also if I remember correctly something was missing. Hell I can get better service at McDonalds down the street at half the price.

I thought it was just me who doesn't get the appeal of this place! Soggy fries and way undercooked burgers. Personally, I like Red Robin.

Never ate there but heard it was very costly, Best burgers in the Valley are at Wertz in westend of Allentown, No one comes close and the chains forget it.

We were just there Friday night for dinner and had a great time! The burgers were terrific, I built my own and my husband had "The Fighting Irish" and loved it. The kids had sliders and milkshakes which were perfect for them. The fries and onions rings were cooked perfectly and oh so tasty! We've eaten here before and have had takeout and it's been great each time! There are so many tasty options that there's something for everyone! We'll definitely be eating there again!

The Burgery makes some of the best burgers in the Lehigh Valley. I've been there several times and I get the best deal on the menu - The Burgery Bargain, just over $10 for burger, fries, and soda, complete. Wert's also makes excellent burgers, but there you'll pay sit-down restaurant prices. I don't think The Burgery is a McDonald's competitor, that's a different burger altogether, at a different price. And I've never taken out Burgery food, but I'm not so sure the french fries would hold up as well as eating them immediately fresh from the frier, so maybe that accounts for the soggy fries comments.

I feel for a different kind of burger in the valley, this is the place to go. It is a little more expensive than say McDonalds but almost the same as Wendy"s. I have no problem with anything about this place. I think they rock! Keep on serving up your great burgers!
