Yes it was! I thought London did a fantastic job - it was beautifully done and well organized.

A few folls I know did not like it. They thought that it was boring. i liked it for being quite unique and it did tell a very effective storyboarded history of Great Britain. Now, of course, the nitpickers will alwyas nitpick, oh well...

I liked the very fine choreography. The industrial revolution was very well done, being right in line with my career and my interest. A most difficult feat to pull off live and on such a grand scale! I thoroughly enjoyed it all up to and including Paul McCartney and his strugglling to capture lyrical excellence, but it did show the genuine nature of the here and now from the memory of "that was then". He choked up briefly which is understandable and made the depth of emotion for the venue all the more real as I am sure that this tops even all he has done in his long musical career in terms of emotional impact.

I liked the opening ceremonies...I don't think it was as good as some years, but it was still fantastic. I've always liked the parade of nations better though, so that is what I was waiting for. For some reason, watching them come out is just inspiring, from the large nations to the small and especially this year, when every competing nation has female athletes.

Suit yourself. There are a lot of hard working amateur athletes competing. They have a name for this kind of behavior, but to each his or her own...

I am sure that you stopped watching when back when the old USSR fielded their definition of an amateur athlete. That was a long time ago...

I'm not concerned about medal counts and such. I like to appreciate the efforts by the many from all over who put the incredible amounts of time and commitment in to excel.
