Rear-end Crash Slightly Injures Pair, Police Say
One driver realizes too late that a car in front is turning, troopers report.
Passengers in separate vehicles were slightly injured in a minor motor vehicle accident in Upper Milford Township, according to police.
Injuries were minor enough that the victims did not require transportation to any hospital, according to state police at Fogelsville.
Anton M. Shannon, 27, of Center Valley was driving south on Route 100 at 3:27 p.m. Dec. 8 when he stopped for a vehicle in front of him making a left turn onto Powder Valley Road, police said. Victoria L. Marks, 18, of Hereford was following behind the two other vehicles, applied her brakes but could not stop in time to avoid striking the back bumper of Shannon's sport-utility vehicle.
Both Shannon and Marks were able to drive their vehicles to the side of the road to clear the intersection, police said.
Marks was not injured, but passenger Dana M. Marks, also 18 and of Hereford, received an unspecified minor injury, police said. Another passenger, Jonathan D. Marks, 8, of Hereford, also was unhurt.
Shannon also wasn't injured. However, her passenger, Lisa A. Miskelly, 27, of Ellicott City, Md., received a minor unspecified injury.
Victoria Marks was cited for following too closely, police said.
