Tree Lighting Marks Finale of Emmaus Old Fashioned Christmas
Hot cocoa, carolers and the countdown to the lighting of the Christmas tree bring hundreds to the Emmaus Triangle.
The evening was crisp and clear on Saturday, Dec. 3. The vibe was festive. Hundreds of excited residents flocked to the Emmaus Triangle in anticipation of the Christmas tree lighting, an annual event sponsored by the Emmaus Main Street Partners.
Perhaps even more were eager for Santa's impending arrival.
Carols and tunes were offered by Lower Macungie Middle School's Cadence Choir as well as the Bethel Bible Fellowship Church Orchestra and the Emmaus Moravian Brass Choir. At 6 p.m., the crowd was encouraged to sing along.
During the second round of "Joy to the World," heads turned as the bright red Emmaus fire engine rolled around the corner and came to rest at the Triangle.
Children lined the sidewalks as Santa and Mrs. Claus waved to the crowd and made their way toward the newly illuminated Christmas tree. Wish lists were discussed as candy canes were passed out.

It seemed like it was a great turn out for the tree lighting and Santa's arrival. Thank you to the borough and all of those involved with making the event a great success.
