Police: More Vehicle Batteries Heisted from Walmart
Troopers estimate 45 used batteries are taken from behind Walmart in Lower Macungie; this is at least the second such incident in the past year.
A thief helping himself to car batteries recently outside the Walmart either decided to take it a little easy on the Lower Macungie Township retailer or didn't realize that the items were used.
Either way, according to state police at Fogelsville, he made off with approximately 45 used vehicle batteries at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 19.
The incident follows the Dec. 20 theft of 30-40 batteries at the same store. Police at the time did not specify whether those batteries were new or used and they did not provide a value.
In the most recent incident, police said that a white Penske van pulled up to a storage area behind the store at 1091 Mill Creek Road. The van was quickly loaded and left.
Despite the fact that the batteries were used, they still had an estimated value of $360, police said.
