Where do you live?
Tell us about the Joe's II Family.
"We came from Long Island. We are very Italian. We have five people in our family - my mom (Maria), my dad (Tommy), me (Rosa), my sister (Daniela), and my brother (GianniVito). My Uncle Joe opened the pizza shop with my dad. In 2010 he sold the other half of partnership to my father. We are very hard workers. We work to please our customers that we love."
Tell us how long you've been working at Joe's II in Emmaus.
"We have been working in Joe's Pizza II for about six years - since June 2007."
What do you enjoy most about working in Emmaus?
"We enjoy working in Joe's Pizza II because all of our customers. They make our day go by faster just seeing them and talking to them. It's a pleasure to see them."
Are there any major challenges you face in the restaurant business? Tell us about them.
"Our major challenges are making sure our customers are pleased and satisfied with us."
What are your favorite menu items and why?
"Riceballs are a major hit. They are so good! Riceballs are a ball that has rice and meat sauce and mozzarella cheese inside."
What are your best sellers?
"Buffalo chicken pizza and Grandma pizza are our best selling pizza items. Our new boneless wings and riceballs are also a best seller."
What's the most unique pizza Joe's II has ever made?
- Nacho Pizza (ground beef, jalapeno, sour cream, cheddar cheese and nacho chips)
- Chili Cheese Dog Pizza (chili hot dogs and cheddar cheese)
- Cheeseburger French Fries Pizza (hamburger, French fries, ketchup, mustard, American cheese and cheddar cheese)
What makes you stand out over the other pizza restaurants in Emmaus?
"We have a different varieties of pizzas."
In an average week, how many pizzas do you make and sell?
"On average about 1,000, but we never really counted."
What does your family like to do in it’s spare time - when you're not working?
"Our family likes to go to the movies in our spare time and just spend time with each other, because the pizza shop has long hours and we barely see each other."
Tell us about the family dynamic inside and outside of the restaurant. Is it the same?
"When we are home it is very different from the pizza shop because we need to act professional at the pizza shop."
What are your long-term goals for Joe's II? Do you (girls) have plans for college and other careers or do you want to run the family business one day?
Rosa: "I'm studying to be a pharmacy technician and working at an assisted living home. Someday, I would like to run the family buisness. I practically grew up in the pizza shop."
Daniela: "I would leave running the family business to my sister or brother. I want to go to college and be a pediatrician."
