Live Election Coverage 2012
Long lines at the polls? Problems with Voter ID? Post info and photos here as we elect a president, lawmakers and other statewide officials. We go live at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6.
- November 5, 2012
After more than a year of campaigning, hundreds of speeches and millions spent on campaign ads, the 2012 election is finally here — and Patch is covering it live in a real-time Election Day Blog.
We will have a dozen editors throughout the Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, talking to voters, election officials and others — and providing updates and results in the blog from 7 a.m. until the final races are called.
We also want to hear from you, so make sure you post a comment in the blog. Tell us how you voted and why; share your experiences at the polls, or just weigh in on the big election of 2012.
The Election Day blog will launch at 7 a.m. Tuesday...but you can sign up now to receive an email alert once the blog goes live.

Polling station at St. George's in Hellertown is asking for ID. They're not explicitly saying you do not need ID - its rather intimidating.

@Hannah Tatu - Thanks for letting us know. Remember they are allowed to ask, everyone, but you can vote without it.

Heading to vote now. Will let you know how busy. I vote at LMT's biggest district.
For me it's a split ticket - http://www.ronbeitler.com/2012/11/05/splitting-my-ticket/

Heavy volume at LMT 2 Bethany. Line was just out the door when I got there. About 40-50 ppl. Election volunteers doing a great job. Line went fast. Was there 15 minutes. One candidate is at the location, Ryan Mackenzie (R) state rep.

It's a chilly day to work the polls, folks. If you have the time and opportunity, why not give them a thanks for their volunteerism by bringing a box of coffee or some snacks? They'll thank you for it!

Do you have a word limit? I'm so worked up after my awful experience this morning. An hour and 10 minute wait at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Easton Ave for 1st district 2nd ward. Poll booths are empty a majority of the time, the awful workers just aren't moving people thru. Then the nasty woman behind the counter starts yelling at the woman behind me with a 1-year-old to shut her kid up, give it a pacifier or something to eat. Where exactly do you expect her to get food standing in this line in the cold for an hour?? And what do you expect from a 1-year-old after standing in line for an hour?? I told her if she was moving people thru faster then maybe the baby wouldn't have a chance to be screaming and she told me they don't "reward bad behavior" and no one gets thru faster. Then three elderly people bypassed the line and voted!! The woman told me age has rewards. First there is no reason for an hour and 10 minute wait at 9:30 am, second there's absolutely no reason to be downright rude and disrespectful to parents standing in the forever long line with their kids doing the best they can and make them feel bad for being there but then catering to older voters. Never in my life had such a horrible experience!

Dixville Notch results are in: Tie 5-5

Dixville notch has 10 registered voters and is usually the first to report since they can officially close their polls after all 10 residents have voted. :)
