Swimmer Noga Nir-Kistler returns home to Salisbury Township with a bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke that she won at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, setting a new American record.
She finished in third place in the event last Wednesday with a time of 1:50.76. Nir-Kistler placed sixth in the 50-meter freestyle on Tuesday with a time of 36.83. She swam a heat in the 100-meter freestyle Saturday, but did not qualify for the finals.
The 2012 London Paralympic Games, which ran from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9, were the second Paralympics for the 33-year-old Nir-Kistler. She was on 2008 U.S. Paralympic table tennis team in Beijing.
Nir-Kistler, who is originally from Israel, graduated from Whitehall High School, where she was a member of the swim team.
