Identity Thief Rips Off Upper Milford Man, Police Say
Someone makes 47 transactions in Tokyo worth $593.08 at Upper Milford man's expense, troopers report.
An Upper Milford Township credit card holder went on a shopping spree on Feb. 1; he just wishes he had the goods and the good times to prove it.
And, he probably wishes he could remember visiting Tokyo, where the money was spent.
Instead, he was back home in the Lehigh Valley while someone else was running up his charges overseas, according to police.
Awareness began for the 59-year-old resident of the 5300 block of Alan Circle with a telephone call from his bank's fraud department, according to state police at Fogelsville. They told him that multiple fraudulent transactions had been made on his account.
Multiple transactions turned out to be 47, police said. But fortunately, the total spent was $593.08. All transactions originated in Tokyo and occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The transactions are being investigated as access device fraud, police said.
