'Ghostbusters' car Popular Attraction at Picnic

The replica "protected" attendees at St. Peter's Church community event.

It is safe to say that in Upper Milford Township was free from ghostly appearances after the Tyson family arrived at the Community Picnic in their “Ghostbusters” car.

The vehicle was certainly a favorite among the cars at the mini car show held at the church’s July 16 event, as children and adults were drawn to it by the “Ghostbusters” theme song blaring from the loudspeakers on top of the car. 

“He has the whole nine yards,” said Linda Tyson, proudly, of her son, Daniel, owner of the car.

“It is equipped to look just like the car in the movies,” she said. There is a pair of coveralls in the back of the car, along with a replica of the backpack used in the movies. 

A special feature of this backpack is the autograph of , one of the stars in the “Ghostbusters” films. Daniel met Akroyd at a , South Whitehall Township.

“The car is so realistic,” said Linda, “people thought it was the one from the movies. When they [Daniel and his father, Marlin] arrived, people thought Marlin was Dan Akroyd’s personal driver of the car.”

Daniel Tyson, of Andreas, Pa., shows his car in parades and at various charitable events. He is a member of the Philadelphia Ghostbusters, a a group of dedicated fans of the movie who bring their Ghostbusters memorabilia to events free-of-charge and instead use such appearances to assist in raising funds for various causes.
