Fire Marshal Investigating Upper Milford Vehicle Blaze

Car was near building when it burned, according to emergency radio transmissions.

 

A blazing vehicle near an Upper Milford building brought a quick response by firefighters late June 27 and a prompt request for a state police fire marshal.

Fire crews from Vera Cruz and Emmaus were summoned at 11:31 p.m. to 4672 Vera Cruz Road, according to state police at Fogelsville.

Vera Cruz Chief Joseph Sherman arrived and reported flames, then soon requested a response by the fire marshal, according to emergency dispatch transmissions. Firefighters made certain to protect the building, then extinguished the blaze.

A state police fire marshal is an investigator who would be sent if the blaze were suspicious. The state police report did not say why they blaze was suspicious, but the report said that it was being handled as possible arson and that the circumstances remain under investigation.
