Emmaus Patch Favors Romney-Ryan

Majority of voters in Emmaus and Upper Milford voted for Romney-Ryan ticket.

With Tuesday’s General Election, President Barack Obama earned another four more years in the White House. However, if some voters in Emmaus and Upper Milford Township had their druthers, the outcome of the election would be quite different.

The Obama-Biden ticket won the state of Pennsylvania. And, as has been the case with past presidential elections, as goes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, so goes the Lehigh Valley and vice versa.

According to unofficial election tallies 77,029 voters (53 percent) in Lehigh County and 66,718 voters (51.53 percent) in Northampton County cast their ballots for the Democratic presidential ticket.

In Emmaus Patch, however, the situation was flip-flopped. Based on unofficial election night totals, 4,686 Emmaus Patch voters cast their ballots for the Romney-Ryan ticket and 4,317 for Obama-Biden.

You mean, if SOME voters had their druthers. There were plenty of others who voted for Obama, myself included.

@Stan Zukowski, you are absolutely correct. Point very well taken. Thanks for helping to clarify. I am actually going to update the article to make that distinction.

Just to be clear, the statistics here are for Emmaus PLUS Upper Milford, the coverage area of "Emmaus Patch" -- I believe. The numbers for just Emmaus are 2697 for Obama, 2386 for Romney.

Happy to see Emmaus actually went for Obama. I feel much better about living in the borough. Too bad folks in Upper Milford aren't more progressive and enlightened.
