Unity of Lehigh Valley in Emmaus prays for peace
Thousands of people will join Silent Unity—an international, transdenominational 24/7 prayer ministry—and Unity churches around the world on Thursday, September 13, 2012, for the 19th annual Unity World Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “The Universe Is Calling,” and the affirmation is “As we listen to the Universe, we are lifted to new heights of awareness and understanding.
Unity of Lehigh Valley will hold a 12 hour prayer vigil beginning at 7am and ending at 7pm with a prayer service at the church in Emmaus and this year will be hosting a prayer class at 7pm in Doylestown also. Community activities will continue with a Circulation Day on Saturday during the Emmaus Sidewalk Sale and a table at the Sunday Emmaus Farmer’s Market. The Unity chaplains at the market will have bookmarks with Peace Prayers representing 11 different faith traditions and sidewalk chalk so that participants may leave their own Peace messages. This is the third year Unity has come to the Farmer’s Market in September.
“Elections have the country divided and many issues seem to pit one against another. World Day of Prayer gives us a chance to come together and celebrate our oneness in Spirit with each other and our world. Through a shared prayer consciousness we co-create a world of peace, harmony and abundance,” said Rev. Joy Wyler.
Unity World Day of Prayer invites people of all faiths to join in prayer for the health and well-being of the world and one another. In addition, each year participants submit more than 1 million individual names for prayer. Unity believes World Day of Prayer is an opportunity to transform the world and individual lives.
