The Ben Event - 5K Race, Kids' Run, Kids' Fun Dash
The Ben Yorgey Foundation is passionately dedicated to honoring the legacy of Ben Yorgey and generating funds for graduating high school students with special needs across the Lehigh Valley. Ben was driven by an ultimate purpose -- to share his gift of love, and we are all changed people because of it. And through this change, Ben Yorgey Foundation exists to make a positive impact, an impact Ben would be proud of. Never meet a stranger. There is no such thing. Love everyone.

The Ben Yorgey Foundation, which is 501C3, was established in order to raise money to support our goals. The annual vehicle for raising resources is THE BEN EVENT. The event is held in July of each year - Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21 this year - at Macungie Memorial Park.
Activities for The Ben Event include a "Friday Night Kick-Off," a 5K race, the 1-mile Fun Walk, Breakfast In The Park, Ben's Block Party, sports events for athletes with special needs, a “Wheels of Time” Cruise Night, Chinese Auction ... AND LOTS MORE!
Hey I Know You 5K Run: This is our 3rd annual race! The flat course is an out and back route with the start and finish in Macungie Memorial Park. Fast times should be possible on this course.
If you have children, you can enjoy watching them run in our 1/2 mile Kids' Run - a race for children 12 years and under. This race will take place immediately after the conclusion of the 5K and will be run entirely within the Park on a paved surface. New for 2012! Kids' Fun Dash immediately following the Kids' Run.
We always have a large assortment of post race snacks and door prizes! In addition to the door prizes, we will present age group awards as well as cash prizes for the overall male and female winners. Whether you're a serious runner, or an occasional jogger, please consider bringing your family to Macungie Park on July 21 and help us make the 2012 Hey I Know You 5K Run our best yet!
We are looking for your support to make The Ben Event a success. Volunteer, participation, donation and sponsorship opportunities are available. Your support will enable the Ben Yorgey Foundation to help the lives of local graduating seniors with special needs.

It is a good thing when a charity event includes the whole family. More often than not, there are a lot of events that do not includes children. It is for the kids and participated in by the kids.

This one was all about the kids, Michiel. It really was a fabulous few days for families.
