East Penn Crush AAU is a program aimed at fostering excitement in girls’ basketball within the East Penn School District and surrounding geographies. The goal of
East Penn Crush is to provide opportunities for girls to learn competitive basketball at a young age and continue to develop their skills as they grow.

Teams (based on current grade level)                    

• Grade 4
• Grade 6 (Consists of players in 6^th grade plus possible 5^th graders ready to play a level higher)         
• Grade 7 (Consists of players in 7^th grade plus possible 6^th graders ready to play a level higher)
• Grade 8 (Consists of players in 8^th grade plus possible 7^th graders ready to play a level higher)         
• Grade 10 (Consists of players grades 8-10)    
• Grade 11 (Consists of players grades 9-11)

Players should plan to try out and play at their current grade level. There may be some exceptions.

Season

The AAU season will consist of 3 -5 weekend tournaments and typically 2 practices per week. It will run from early March through early June for Grades 4, 6, 7 and 8. The start date will be based on gym availability and end date based on the last tournament. The Grade 10 and 11 teams will start later and could run through mid-July (college showcase events are in July).

Costs

Costs to participate on the AAU team will range from $200 - $300, depending on the number and types of tournaments entered. Costs for Grades 10 and 11 may be higher due to involvement in college showcase events. The AAU cost includes tournament entry fees, uniforms, gym time (if necessary), insurance and administrative fees. Actual amounts are based on team/parent decisions as to number
and location of tournaments. Coaches and administrators will make every effort to work with the families involved to manage these costs.

Tryouts

Teams will be selected based on tryouts. Tryout dates are defined as follows:  

• G10-G11:
  Saturday, Feb 16 1:00-2:30. Saturday, Feb 23 1:00-2:30.
• G7-G8:
  Saturday, Feb 16 2:30-4:00. Saturday, Mar 2 1:00-2:30.
• G4-G6:
  Saturday, Feb 23 2:30-4:00. Saturday, Mar 2 2:30-4:00.

Alltryouts will be held at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. A one-time tryout fee of $15 is required.
